Dancing On Ice Queen Suzane Shaw is starting her role in Chicago today, the show is running for a few months but Suzanne is only in it for SIX WEEKS ONLY! She is playing Roxy Hart! Here are the details:
Suzanne to be a Shaw-Fire Hit
Ex Hearsay singer and Dancing on Ice queen Suzanne Shaw is preparing to take to the stage as Roxy Hart in the Cambridge Theatre's showing of Chicago.
The star will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Denise Van Outen, Brooke Shields and Bonnie Langford as she takes to the stage for a short period from June 2nd until 12th July this summer and shawly (sorry all!!) hopes to continue the success she enjoyed in ITV1's competition, Dancing on Ice. Suzanne's CV includes appearances on The Bill, City Central and Holby City.
You may remember Suzanne Shaw from the first series of ITV's Popstars when she joined four other members of the general public to form the latest manufactured pop sensation, Hear'Say. The group enjoyed short-lived success at the top of the charts before they split in 2002.
Since then, Shaw has appeared in various musicals in the West End. In 2005, Suzanne took the role of narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat which led to the leading part in Snow White. You can read more about the star on our Suzanne Shaw biography page.
Chicago recently celebrated it's 10th anniversary after opening at the Adelphi Theatre back on 18th November 1997.The show was an instant success and immediately became a sell out show winning many awards including The Lawrence Olivier Award for Outstanding Musical Production and The Critic's Circle Drama Award for Best Musical. Chicago is now enjoying Worldwide success on Broadway with shows planned for Japan, Australia and South Africa in the near future.
